H is for…..

H sta per Cuore, Aiuto e Ospedale.

Cuore.

.H is for Heart, Help and Hospital

Heart. My heart, full of Love for Thea. I always thought that love grows the more you get to know someone. I thought it was the same for children. The older they grow and the days go by, the more you get to be with them the more your love grows. I couldn't have been more wrong. The love in my heart grows everyday for Thea. I can feel her. She's here with me.
Her heart…. STILL. I just can't get that still long line on the ultra scan out of my mind. I went to hospital thinking that they were going to send me back home.

Help. The only REAL help I've had so far is from my family, some friends (very few) and people … strangers I don't even know. (Babyloss sites, internet friends and blogs) The hospital didn't help me. They didn't say that if I needed help when at home…. Just to talk to someone that is was normal. They didn't say a word. NOTHING.

Hospital. I really didn't think that I would get the treatment I did in hospital. They did EVERYTHING wrong! They didn't say if I wanted to see her. They didn't let me hold her…. Well… if you've been reading you'll already know how I was treated. I want to change things. I want to help change things in the hospital I was in. I don't want another mother to be treated the way I was. Going through stillbirth is a terrible situation…. Being treated the way I was just made everything worse. I think things would have been slightly different…. And I would have started me journey in a different way…. I wouldn't have all of these regrets if I were treated differently.

Need your help.... ho bisogno del vostro aiuto....

Qualsiasi cosa sara' apprezzata.  Una parola... una frase.... un piccola poesia.  Qualsiasi cosa.

Potresti gentilmente scrivere qualcosa tra i commenti?  GRAZIE!

Yes your help...I'm talking to the people who read this blog.

As I wrote yesterday.... I've started to work on Thea's corner.  I thought I would write some notes to put in a jar.  When sitting in Thea's corner I can read one random note and mediate on it.... so they can help me think of her and us.

I've already written some short poems.  Anything would be appreciated.  A word... a little sentance....a short poem.  Anything.

Would you please be as kind as to write something amongst my comments?  Thank you!

Thea's Corner(work in progress)...

I've started working on Thea's Corner. Her little heart candle holder arrived today.  We had bought a chair.  We bought wooden flower holders today.  I've got pick vases. I've ordered Hybrid Tea roses.  (Tea o Thea it just seems so right).  I'll get pictures up when I've finished.

Help me make this corner extra special my beautiful princess!

G is for…..

Femmina. Lo so. L'ho detto tante volte.

Dio. Io credo in Dio.

G is for Girl, Grandparents, Gift and God.

Girl. I know. I've said it lots of times. This little girl was going to complete our family. She was the missing piece. I didn't think that the missing piece… will be lost forever.

Grandparents. My mum and dad. The two people that have always been by my side have suffered SO much. I've never given them this much pain since I was born. The pain I saw in their eyes when I told them that Thea's little heart wasn't beating anymore is unforgettable. They were the very first people to know as soon as we got back from the hospital.

Gift and gifts. Thea was our "gift from God"….. she really was. Every baby is. We weren't trying for another baby, so after the initial shock and confusion we really did think that she was meant to be. I can't forget telling everyone that I did loads of physical things like bike riding and moving furniture around…..if she hung on then… then she really was meant to be. Little did I know that during pregnancy there isn't a "safe" moment where you can sit back and say...." Ok it's all fine…. Nothing bad can happen now".

Gifts. Thea received lots of gifts "before" she was born. It was as if they were all giving her gifts while she was alive. Unconsciously they knew that they weren't going to be able to give her anything after her birth.

God. I believe in God. I'm a catholic. After Thea a very special person asked me "Do you still believe in God?" I replied yes….I do. I believe that Thea was SO special that she was too good for this life. She was too perfect to be here. The first thought I had was that she now has a Mother up there that is perfect in every way. Mary. She'll look after her better than I ever could be able to.

Wordless Wednesday

The 11th of July.  What you would have worn to a wedding we were invited to.

A 2 day holiday....

Siamo andati vicino l'Etna... e i miei ometti erano contenti.

TANTISSIMI erano quasi tutti in attessa.

Vola in alto piccolo.

We went away for 2 days.  I really needed a break from everything.  Ok I know I can't take a break from my grief.... but I can from the looks of pity.

We were near Etna.... and my boys were happy.  They loved going to the acqua amusement park and going to see the vulcano.

At the acqua amusement park I saw a friend I haven't seen for awhile.  I really didn't want to see anyone.  I wanted to have Thea for myself ....hidden inside me... for no one else to see just me.

It was nice to mingle in with the stangers and be anonimous.  It was nice to be around people that don't know.

My baby girl kept sending me lots of signs.  I felt her all around me.  She was there.

Here is the butterfly she sent me....

This is the cloud she sent me.  And I'm postive this is actually her!!!!

We went to ikea..... I can't believe how many pregnant women go to ikea!!!!!  LOADSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS  they were nearly all pregnant.  All I saw were pregnant women and cots.... and baby girls bedrooms.  Everything pink and girlie.

I miss you baby girl.  SO much!!!!

When we got back home I was told that one of Luca's classmates mummy had lost her little baby son.  She was 6 months pregnant.  She had swallen feet.  When she went to the docs. he said she had severe gestational diabetes.  She had a C section.  Her little baby boy was born alive but unfortunately didn't make it.  He stopped breathing after a few minutes of his life.  His mother is still under observation in hospital and her life was also in danger.

I sent them a text message saying that I didn't want to interfere but I wanted to tell them what know one had ever said to me.  That is take a foto, hold him and get a little footprint or handprint.  I know they are worried for the mothers life still.... but I'm sure that when that's all over.... the grief of their loss will kick in...and the pain will never go away.

Fly high little boy.  My little princess Thea is up there and I'm sure you'll all have lots of fun riding the clouds and sliding on rainbows.

sabato 2 luglio 2011

The second of July.... Il due luglio.

Amavo questa data.  Il due luglio.  Il giorno migliore dell'anno.  Un giorno speciale.  Mi sentivo speciale.  Ricevevo telefonate e messaggi.... tutto.

Ho 36 anni.  Mai in questi 36 anni avrei potuto immaginare che qualcosa del genere potesse capitare a me.

2 luglio 2011.  Mi dispiace.... non sarai mai lo stesso.

Bianche  farfalle, i ricordi,
screziate delle emozioni più dolci e preziose.
Lucciole scintillanti nella notte
dei sogni e dell’innocenza

Fluttuano.
Catturano immagini, pensieri, parole
Istanti  inebrianti  di magica atmosfera
Profumi mai dimenticati

Così si snocciola la filiera dei ricordi.
Luci e ombre. Suoni e silenzio.
Sospingono verso alte dimensioni

e  apre  il cuore all’immenso.

I used to love this date.  The second of July.  The best day of the year.  A special day.  I used to feel special.  Got phone calls messages... everything.  It was GREAT!

Today I can't wait until it's over.

Today... is my birthday.  I haven't picked up the phone.  I haven't thanked anyone for their brithday messages.  I don't want to.... I've nothing to celebrate.

Thea wasn't with me on this day last year.  So it's not as though I'm looking back and thinking that she was with me last year.  I just immagined this day.... this year SO different.  I wanted to have my TLC team to come up to me.... give me a kiss and wish me happy birthday.  I didn't want anything posh.... didn't want to ask for anything expensive.

My "Gift from God". It's the meaning of her name.  I fell in love with it as soon as I read the meaning.  A perfect name... for a perfect little child.

Thea did give me a gift today.  I went to the cemetary with Luca this morning.  As I was coming out of the cemetary....we saw a little white butterfly on a leaf.  I went up to it... and stroked it's wings.  I was the softest thing I've ever touched.  It was perfect.  I've never touched a butterfly before.  This little butterfly let itself be touched.  It was as though it was going to take that touch to Thea.

I'm 36.  Never in those 36 years could I have immagined that anything like this would happen.

2nd of July 2011 I'm so sorry.....you'll never be the same again.

F is for….. F sta per……

F sta per…. Famiglia, Sentimenti, Amici e Padre.

Intendo LA famiglia. Tutti mi hanno dato forza e amore. La NOSTRA famiglia….intendo noi 5…. È stata tanto importante per me.

Emotivamente i miei sentimenti vengono spesso feriti.

Amici.
All'inizio. Quando le cose sono davvero difficili. Cercavano a proporre uscite e fare qualcosa.
Soprattutto …. Hanno rispettato Thea. Parlano di lei usando il suo nome. La rispettano.
Altre persone che non ho mai incontrato. Mai guardato negli occhi. Mai sentito la loro pacca sulla spalla…. Ci sono state per me.

Ho risposto…. Perché no? Non siamo diversi dagli altri. E' difficile da ammettere …. Ma è la verità.

Family, Feelings, Friends and Father.

Family. I'm so glad I have a very caring family around me. I mean THE family. Everyone has given me strength and love. OUR family… I mean the 5 of us…. Has also been so important for me. Your presence would have completed us as a family….. the cherry on top of our special cake. The missing piece to our loving puzzle. The complete frame for our family picture. You will always be our cherry, our missing piece of puzzle and our picture frame…… but in a different way. I'm so lucky to have your brothers around me. I'm so lucky to have your dad around. He has been my tower of strength.

Feelings. Now when I mean feelings, I mean physical and emotional ones. Physically, I feel empty. Empty arms, empty bump and empty breasts. My head often feels like it's going to explode. My heart feels like it's broken in two. I look at myself in the mirror and see this person. She looks like she has had a baby. The light in her eyes has been switched off. She just looks sad…. Even when she smiles. She isn't the person I used to know and who I grew up with all of my life.
Emotionally. My feelings are often hurt. A simple word or sentence can throw me down and it's hard to pick myself up again. Especially when people don't understand the feelings I have for my daughter are the exact same feelings I have for my sunshine boys. I can understand people without children not knowing what I'm going on about…..but parents…with children… how can you not understand the love for your own child??

Friends. I don't know if I should call some people 'friends'. Those I have considered friends for years have become just simple 'acquaintances'. I understand many of them don't know what to say… they don't know what to do…. so they think the best way to be close to me is just staying away.
Some try to help…. They try at the beginning. When things are really hard. They try proposing outings and doing something or another. You say no because you don't feel up to it yet… and they are like offended because they tried but you didn't do what they asked of you so…. That's it! They give up trying!
Some…. Who were just 'acquaintances' have become friends. Some people I would have never dreamt of talking to…. Have given me SO much. They have been there for me. Respected me and my pain. Above all… they respect Thea. They talk about her using her name. They respect her.
Other people I have never met. Never looked in them in the eyes. Never felt their pat on my shoulder…and yet they have been there for me. All of my internet friends have given me SO much. They understand. They care. They think of me. I'm SO happy to have 'met' them and SO happy I have them in my life.

Father. Thea's father. He is the most tender, loving, caring person that I have ever met. He loves his baby girl so much. He would have been quite a jealous daddy. I picture both of you sitting on the sofa cuddled up together and looking each other in the eyes. Daddy's little girl. With that special bond that only father's and daughter's have.
He said he didn't want to see you. He said he wanted to imagine you alive and well. He did see you. He touched you on the cheek and I'm so glad he did. He said you are beautiful. That you were perfect and couldn't understand why God didn't give you to us to watch grow up. He asked me…. Why us? I answered Why not? We aren't any different from others. It's difficult to admit…. But it's the truth.
