un altro pezzo mancante...Another missing piece....

Arrivati lì.... davanti a me c'erano molte persone che stavano davvero male.

I didn't feel well on Monday.  Unfortunately when I don't feel well ..... and it's nothing .......I start getting anxious...and something little becomes something (in my mind) like a mortal illness.

I felt a little faint.  Probably because I had a NON decaf cappuccino.  Then I started getting tachycardia.  Then hyperventilate.... then I decided to go to the ER.... un understand if I was dying from a heart attack.  I know.... I'm exaggerated... but from when I lost Thea.... and even more so ... last year with my pregnancy I can't seem to control this anxiety and the panic attack.

Ok... what's that got to do with the missing piece?

I went to the ER in the same hospital that Thea was born in.  I don't even know why I wanted to go there.

When we got there.... there were lots of people there that felt really bad.  People arrived on ambulances, truth is I felt embaressed with myself.  I told the nurse that I wouldn't wait my turn ... that I would go and book a private appointment.

Before we left I asked Giuseppe if he would take me outside the mortuary where Thea was on the 25 night of the 25th and nearly all day on the 26th.

I felt anger as we went towards that mortary.... I started to realise how near my hospital romm was.  Why didn't I run to her instead of leaving her alone?  Giuseppe said the same thing.

"If only I would have known....I would never have left her alone....."

We got to the mortuary.  Giuseppe showed me which room she was in that day he went to see her for the first and last time.

I immagined her there.... in her little white coffin.... we ordered for her before she was born....

Even though seeing that place hurt me... I needed to know and see the place my daughter had been.

Ci pensa Facebook.... Leave it to Facebook....

So già la risposta.

So tutto...

.....to set you back ....well, not actually a setback....but it made me deeply think ....

This morning I went on facebook.... like I do every morning.  I look at my notifications .... and I see the pretty little application "It happened today".  I opened it and I find two comments that spoke to me about envy.  Ok ... I understand...to actually tell me about it directly it wasn't real GREEN envy.  It was probably an expression, just for, just so....

5 years ago:

I was already envious because you had the courage to start again,,,,, and now even more (beacuse pregnant with a girl)

Reading ..... my "gut" reaction was to think...."I wonder if you still feel envious of me now"?
I wonder if this person would like a tombstone with the name of the daughter she was so envious of that she actually wrote to me about it?

I already know the answer.  Like I already know that the person who wrote to me didn't do it out of spite.  I know that my "gut" reaction is exaggerated even.  I perfectly know that no mother would want....much less envy a mother who is grieving her daughter.

I know it all...

But I thought it anyway.

If it was me .... I might have said the same thing too.  Well, of  course, because you wouldn't ever think that a pregnany would end that way?

Am I spiteful? Maybe.
Am I selfish? Probably.
Do I miss my little baby even after all the good and beautiful things I have recieved in these 5 years? Yes!

Riprendere a scrivere.... start to write again....

Ricordo come divoravo ogni singola parola.

I have taken a little big rest from writing here on my blog.

I think that maybe I didn't feel the need to write anymore because.... even if before it was a way to free my emotions in my grief.... afterwards I didn't feel the need.

Now I was thinking about this blog again.  I think about how I used to read all the american and english blogs after losing Thea.  I remember how I used to devour every single word.  Everything I read makìde me cry.... but at the same time it helped.  I made me realise what was happening in that given time..... it happened to another mother that I had read.... and that was ok because everything was normal.

I don't want to be sound presumptuous and think that I can save someone.... I would just like to give back a bit of what I have been given even though now one knows that they have given me A LOT.

Bit of a confusion of words.  As we know.... when you become a mother to an invisable baby.... from that very second.... nothing is as it should be and everything acquires a different meaning.

I'm back. :)

What is going on in some people's heads?

Yesterday I read what was really heartbreaking news on facebook.

So che ho parlato prima di loro qui sul blog.... ma quello che ho letto ieri secondo me vale la pena essere scritto.

Giuliana e Bill.

Come cavolo pensano a dire queste cose?

I know I've mentioned them before here on the blog...but what I read yesterday really is worth a mention.

Giuliana and Bill.  They lost their first baby early in Giuliana's pregnancy.  She then had breast cancer but so desperately wanted a child so they decided to chose a surrogate mother.  They had their second baby Duke.  Baby Duke is nearly 2 years old and they decided they wanted to have another child and give Duke a brother or sister.  Sadly their surrogate mother had a miscarage.

Giuliana and Bill are devastated.  So is the surrogate mother.

Bill repeated what he had said in the first pregnancy.  They were nearly in the 12 week safety zone.  We  all know there is no such thing.

But thing that started getting my blood to boil were the comments people were leaving. like: you can have more one on one time with baby Duke.  Have you thought about adopting? You'll have another baby soon.  Don't adopt, dont let strange blood into your family..... chose a younger surrogate mother.

I swear I don't understand what goes on in people's mind!  How would you say such things?

When I lost Thea I heard lots of stupid things.  I honestly thought that is was due to ignorance.  All to do with people from the south of Sicily.  Not wanting to be racist or anything..... I just thought that seen as though we are quite behind on things.... about 20 years behind..... it was the excuse I gave.  But these people are American..... they are from Great Britain.  How the hell do they even think of these things to say?

Now I understand that the whole world in a very small place....a bit too small!

Pasqua.... Easter...

Emozionante.
Da tre anni mi chiedo....perchè io no?

Even this third Easter without Thea has passed.

I live in a small Sicilian village.  Every Easter there is what is called the "invontro" (meeting).  It's a religious festival that's very beautiful and emotional to watch.  Everytime..... in these three years I seem to empathize with the characters.  The statue of S. Michele is carried on shoulder and goes from The statue of Christ Risen to the Virgin Mary telling her that her son is alive.  He does it three times.  In the end the Virgin Mary believes him and the statues of the Virgin Mary and Christ Risen on shoulder start to run from the two exstramities for a long street to then meet in the middle of it.  The Virgin Mary has a black cape, seeing her son she takes off her black cape and has a beautiful light blue one underneath.  They meet.... mother and son.... they make their statues"dance".  It's emotional.  It had been three years that I ask myself.... why not me?  I know..... I could never compare myself to the Virgin Mary.  Thea could never be campared to Jesus...... but I want what they have.  That resurection.....I would wnat to have it.  I would like to find Thea alive running at my open arms to never let her go.
