First day at work...
"NO!"
Well it wasn't much of a first day after all. I got up this morning. Sent a kiss up to heaven to my little baby in the sky.
Downloaded some emails onto my phone and found an email from my priest. Tears started rolling down my cheeks.... then I said "Thea we can do this!". I clenched my fist.... and I swore I could feel a little hand in my hand clentching me tight too!
I got ready, kissed my babies... and went off to work.
When I arrived I was greated with a "what are you doing here?".... ehmmm...... "Didn't they ring you to tell you that your class is in the town square for the blessing of the new school year?" "nope!"
I was then told I could go home. I walked into the school..... arms totally empty..... and was catapolted for a minute into the past. The happy past. When I was carefree and worryless. When I would dance around and sing with my little pupils and we would laugh all day.
Then those little girls.... who stared at me. I thought it was just me noticing it.... but then someone else said "look at the way Sara is looking at you!" I'm sure they weren't looking at me. They were definately looking at the little angel on my shoulder......

This is Mr Worry. Mr Worries a lot he even worries when he's got nothing to worry about.
I'm worried because tomorrow I'll be going back to work. It has been a year since I've not been back. Having to go back without a baby waiting for me at home..... is.... heart breaking!!!!
I work in a pre school. We have a nursery and the preschool part of the school. I so hope they don't want me to help out in the nursery part tomorrow. I don't think I'll be up to looking after little babies.
I'll only be going one day a week for now. My bosses are being very good with me.
Wish me luck... and I wish I could give this little blue man all my worries!!!

GRAZIE A TUTTI. Ho ancora bisogno di voi....

Madre.
Scrivo Luca.
Avevo fiducia in lui.
Poi ho iniziato a pregare.

M is for
Mourning, Mother Myoma and Miraculous Medal.
Mourning. After six month I have not finished mourning
my daughter. I don’t think I ever will.
The Grieving/mourning is a long one.
There are lots of phases and lots of different feelings you go
through. I really didn’t think it would
be like this. The closest people I’ve
ever lost were my grandparents and three years ago my father in law. The pain was great…. But nothing compared to
this.
There are
things that have REALLY helped me through these 6 months. Writing this blog for one… has REALLY helped
so much. The www.ciaoplapo.it forum has helped me SO
much. Being in touch with people that
KNOW….. Is really a good thing! Reading
other BLM’ blogs make me realize that what I feel is “normal”. Two Mummy forums that have been very close
have been: www.mammeonline.net and www.mumonline.net . My
family. Near and far have been close and
supportive. THANK YOU ALL. I still need you….
Mother. A mother of Three. That’s me.
Only two little boys can be seen.
I have been asked how many children I have in these 6 months and I’ve
said two boys. I could have slapped
myself round the face for that. THERE
ARE THREE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m a mum to three!
When Gero
started Nursery school in September the teacher gave us all a questionnaire. We had to fill in sections… like: like/dislikes,
what does he like and not like to play with? What you expect from the school
etc. I came to the section…. Brothers
and sisters and their ages. I filled in
Luca. Then hesitated and went on to fill
in the other sections. I just couldn’t
stop thinking about the brother and sister section. I went back to it…. I then wrote: He has a
little sister Thea Caterina. If he ever
talks about her he knows that his little sister is an angel and has gone up to
heaven. He never met her because she
left us when I was eight months pregnant.
I FELT SO GOOD AFTERWARDS!!!!!
I will
always be a mummy of THREE!
Myoma and
Miraculous Medal. There is a reason why
I put these 2 together. He goes the
explanation.
During my
pregnancy the doc. said I had a Myoma on my uterus. He said that most probably after I had Thea I
would have to have surgery to have it removed.
Ok. He said it was nothing. I trusted him. Though nothing of it. After Thea….everything the doc. had said
before didn’t matter. I didn’t trust him
anymore and thought that everything he had said before were just lies.
When I went
to see him to talk about what had happened and to have a checkup…. He confirmed
that the Myoma was still there. He said
to wait until September and have it taken out.
Ok
I then
started thinking about the Myoma. My
main thought was that it was still there and that just maybe I would have to
have surgery but have my uterus taken out with the Myoma. That way if I had just a little bit of
thought about having another baby it would all vanish because it will never be possible.
I thought
about going to another doc. He is a well
known doc. who is VERY professional. I
made an appointment and the days that led up to that appointment were nerve
wrecking. I kept thinking of the
worst. I then started praying. Something I had stopped doing. I went to church for the first time in many
months. The priest talked about the
miraculous medal. He said to wear it…. To
keep it near because the Virgin Mary blesses whoever wears it. He said to put all your troubles to the
Virgin Mary and give her your life. She
would then sort out your troubles and do everything God wanted just by
believing in the miraculous Medal.
I prayed
and said: if you want me to have another baby….. If it is Thea’s will for me to
have another baby…. Then make the Myoma go away. If not…. if it is no ones will for me to have
another baby…. Then make there be the Myoma…. Make it even bigger so they have
to take away my uterus.
We went to
the doc’s office. We explained what had
happened to Thea. We told him all of our
fears and out doubts about the pregnancy and about Thea’s doc. He was VERY sensitive. VERY kind and for the first time in 6 months
he looked us both right into our eyes and we could tell that he was speaking
from heart.
He then
went on to talk about future pregnancies. My hubby said… “Well no… we’re not
thinking about another baby at the moment because what happened was very
traumatic…. Seeing my daughter in that little white coffin… everything was like
a nightmare” Through the whole explanation the doc nodded and said I know. He then went on to say “I know…. Not because
I have had patients that have lost babies so far ahead…. Not because I’ve
studied it in books…. I know because 17 years ago I lost my son at 35 weeks”. He was a baby loss dad! That was why he spoke with his heart. I’ve spoken to many baby loss parents… across
the web but I have never met anyone before.
That eye contact meant everything to me.
He gave me
and ultra scan to see how the Myoma “was coming along”. He looked at me and said “Mrs. M. what was it
that your doctor was going to have to operate on? You have nothing on your
uterus!” You cannot imagine that after 6
months of grieving and thinking about that stupid Myoma…. What joy that was.
I walked
out of the doc’s office with a smile.
We had to
speak to the doc’s secretary…. When I looked at her necklace…. Guess what she
was wearing? YES! The miraculous Medal. Then I remembered my prayer! As soon as I got home I thanked the Virgin
Mary. I ordered a medal from the
internet. When it arrived it was quite
big…. So I put it in my pocket. I lost
itL guess what arrived in the post a week
after? All the homes in the village had
a miraculous medal sent to their homes!
I’m wearing it now!

It's been a week... E' passata una settimana...
Cos'è successo? Bene. Il 25 settembre segnarono i 6 mesi senza Thea. 6 mesi pieni.

What has happened?
Well. The 25th of September was
the marking of 6 months without Thea. 6
whole months. That’s half a year! This much time will pass again and it will be
a year. I don’t know if it has been a
long time or it’s very little.
On the 25th I went to the Cemetary. I took 6 red roses to my little precious
Thea. Then it started to rain L so I had
to hurry. I promised myself that I would
go back the next morning and stay with her longer and light a candle.
I did. Before I
did I went to my local shop to buy a candle.
We all know one another here. It’s
a really small village. A Lady I know greated me with a “how are you?” I
always say not bad. Then she went on to
say “better?”. God forgive me but I just
couldn’t shut up. I said “ I haven’t had
the flu!”. I know… I full well know that
that person didn’t want to hurt my feelings in anyway. I definitely know that she wanted to make me realize
that she is sad for my loss. Ok… but I just
can’t go on thinking about not answering back, even in a harsh way just because
I may hurt someone’s feelings.
For 6 months I have never answered back… even when I’ve
had the most hurtful comments. But now….
I really can’t be bothered. Am I really
selfish if I say I just want to think about me for a change? Thinking about my feelings without thinking
that I might make someone else sad?
When I got to Thea’s grave there were people visiting
her. That brighten my day up!
Where am I 6 months on? I’m going out more. I go and pick the boys up from school. Listen to another mum go on about her
pregnancy and that she is due in MARCH!
Yes MARCH! It’s as though march
has become Thea’s month and I’m slightly jealous that other babies are born
that month too! God what strange things happened
to your mind after you lose a baby!
I now think of Thea and think of her with a little
smile. I think of how lucky I am to have
held her in my bump for 8 months and to have been able to given birth to such a
beautiful baby girl.
I don’t cry that often either. I do… but not the distressing cries of
before.
This month is babyloss awareness month. I’m sure all babyloss mummy’s are already
organizing everything and getting their candles ready for the 15th
of October at 7pm. If there is anyone
else reading. Please light a candle in
memory of those little people we have in our hearts and we can never forget…
and to create awareness in every part of the world. Research is to be done because losing a baby
is heartbreaking and it should never happen to anyone!
