New things I bought back from England for Thea's corner

I planted some forget-me-nots too!!!!!!

K is for....

K is for Kiss

K is for the kiss I never gave her.  The kiss I long to give her and will never be able to give.

I was so close!!!!  Why didn't I think to kiss her?  She was / is my baby and it didn't come into my mind to kiss her.  How unatural is that?

She was with me for not even a minute.  Maybe the hospital staff should have tried telling me to do so.

I kiss her everyday.... I blow her a kiss up to heaven.  I hope she gets a least those.

Kick count

http://www.justmommies.com/articles/printable-kick-count-chart.pdf

Please use this chart... maybe it can help save your baby....

I wish I had done it.

The realization that things are really changing and will never come back....

Voglio quello!!!!!!  Lo voglio indietro disperatamente!!!!!!  Voglio indietro mia figlia.   Voglio che tutto ritorni come prima...."normale".  Non voglio trovare una nuova me.  Stavo bene con la vecchia me!!!!

Scusate le lamentele..... odio questi cambiamenti.  Sono tutti troppo per me.

Last night it hit me all of a sudden that things change and they will never be the same again.

Since Thea passing away..... we have had the boys sleeping in our bedroom.  It has been quite conforting having them there with us.

We've had a triple bed since they've been there.  I've slept BAD nearly all the nights they've been there.  But I've put up with it because they comforted me.  Last night they were being VERY loud.... not listening..... jumping everywhere... and I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't midnight.  So Giuseppe and I moved the beds back into their room and that was it.

When we everything and everyone were finally in their places.... I looked around me and thought "Where have my babies gone?".  This is really it..... no more little babies to cuddle at night.  No babies to breastfeed.  No one waking up in the middle of the night needing the toilet because they go by themselves.  No more babies.  Just children and they won't be children for long.  Luca is 7 going on 17 and Gero is 4 going on 14 and Thea?  Where is she?  lost on a cloud somewhere in the sky.

Before I know it I'll be old and grey and all I'll be looked for is to maybe babysit an odd grandchild or two.

I wasn't ready for this.

Not now.

I should have been breastfeeding.  I should have been up all night with a teething baby.  I should have been awake instead of sleeping all night.  I should have been looking at Thea whilst she was sleeping .... putting my fingers under her nose to see if she was breathing.  All of those things you do when a new born arrives into your house.

I want that!!!!  I want it all back desperately!  I want my daughter back.  I want everything to go back to "normal".  I don't want to "find a new normal".  I was happy with the old me!!!!

Sorry about the rant..... I just hate all these changes.  They're all just too much.

J is for.....

L'ho sempre guardato in modo fiero.

Poi tutto cambio'.  John inizio' a bere,,,,ogni Sabato sera veniva a casa ubriaco.

A 44 anni John doveva andare in Ospedale.

Sembrava proprio come il mio fratello maggiore John!  Sembra stia ritornando.

17 giorni e continuo a contare.....

J would be the next letter in the alphabet for my ABC project.

It's slightly funny that the only thing that comes into my head is John.  John is my brother.

He's got nothing to do with babyloss ..... hes got alot to do with alcohol abuse.

I would like to write about him here because it's a difficult time for him....and it's something that I'm going through too.

John is my big brother.  I've always looked up to him.  We've always had a great relationship.  I remember Saturday and Sunday mornings I'd creep into his bed with him and have a cuddle.  He would play with me.... he took me on his paper round once too.  I was proud of him.... and he was proud of me.

Then everything changed.  John started drinking.... every Saturday night he would come home drunk.  I would listen to him stagger in the front door..... go up the stairs and I would start to shake until he was safely in his bed.  I was scared that he would bump into my parents and then they would argue.

John lost lots of jobs .... he lost lots of money.... he lost his girlfriends.... he lost himself and he lost all of that respect that I once had for him thinking he was everything!

At 44 years of age John had to go to hospital.  The alcohol has had the better of him.  He wasn't well.  His liver was slowly trying to tell him that it couldn't take anymore.

We had a phone call saying that it was best to go to England and see what the situation was for ourselves because the doctors had given him 3 months to live.  He had discharged himself from the hospital saying that he hadn't got a problem and could give up when he wanted.  He was then convinced to go back into hospital..... he did but this time he stayed there and underwent a detox program.

When we arrived .... I entered the living room..... and the person I was once so proud of.... was sitting in an armchair.... long hair.... yellow skin.... yellow eyes and skin and bones.  Alcohol had done this to him.... I wasn't feeling proud ... just angry at him.

I stayed with him for 5 days.  John wasn't eating and he started eating 3 times a day.  He couldn't walk.... but he then walked down the supermarket with me.  He spoke slurry all the time and finally spoke properly like he hasn't in years.

There he was again.  My big brother John!  He's not exactly the same.  He still has to get better.

He has a C A T scan on the 15th.  I'm crossing my fingers for him for that.  Hopefully he hasn't caused much damage to his liver.

On my last day in England I showed him the picture of Thea's grave and Thea's ultrasound picture.  He looked at her picture..... and kissed it.  When we said goodbye he said.... "Maria... the only way is up.... I can't get any lower than I've been!".  I wish I had the same courage to say the same thing.

I rang him yesterday and he sounded like my big brother John.  He sounds like he's coming back.... I hope he can have his second chance in life.  Not many people do have second chances.  Thea didn't.... I hope he does..... and I hope that this time he does everything in his power to change his own life.

It's been 17 days so far that he hasn't touched a drop of alchol.  17 days and counting.

Stavo andando in Inghilterra a vedere mio fratello.

Emozionante....

Here I was at the same time you were born 17.26 on the 25th of August.  I was on my way to England to go and see my brother.

How emotional....
